About Frinton on Sea-Walton on the Naze and Surrounding Villages
Although only separated from Clacton by green fields the resorts of Frinton and Walton couldn't be more different.
Frinton is a family seaside resort that, shall we say, ‘upmarket’ which is famous for it’s Railway crossing and the divide between living inside the railway gates and outside the gates! Frinton tries very hard to maintain it’s character in an ever changing world and in its attempts to keep this going, the fight to keep a fish and chip shop out of the town was not to be!
Frinton is a quiet place with sands and some interesting Victorian and Art-Deco buildings.
Along the tree-lined Connaught Avenue high street you will find a selection of restaurants, The famous Pub (being the only one inside the Gates!) which was only allowed application in 2000. Also a selection of small exclusive boutiques, also a Co-op for local food shopping.
Sun-Sea and Sand
Along the coast of Frinton and Walton you will enjoy clean sandy beaches. Stretching from Walton on the Naze through to Clacton-on-Sea and Jaywick.
Like Clacton, Frinton-on-Sea faces South which gives us good hot summer weather. The beaches have recently been protected from the dumping of local sewage by a multi-million pound scheme to clean the water and the Coast Erosion program which has seen the sea walls strengthened and near Jaywick, new beaches created.
We also now have our own Seaside Award by the Keep Britain Tidy Movement for the clean water and facilities at Frinton-on-Sea
